National Waste Care Day
Celebrating the 2019 National Waste Care Day, Minister of Environment and Forestry, Siti Nurbaya, encourages for people to reduce waste starting from their homes.
Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs, Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, announced government’s focus on plastic waste management at the 2019 National Waste Care Day by setting up concrete policies and regulations.
Sri Bebassari, head of Indonesia Solid Waste Association or InSWA, said that open dumping landfills, ideally, should no longer allowed in Indonesia in accordance to the law.
Ministry of Environment and Forestry awarded four companies at the peak of National Waste Care Day for their waste management on Tuesday (28/2), in Kenjeran, Surabaya.
Vice President Jusuf Kalla on Tuesday (28/2) encouraged industries and public, in general, to take responsibilities and manage their own wastes.
