Jakarta (Greeners) – Indonesian Pediatric Association (IDAI) said that fake vaccines contained antigen and Sodium Chloride (NaCl) were harmless for children, said its director, Aman Bhakti Pulungan, in Jakarta on Thursday (14/07).
Pulungan said that main issue in fake vaccine was children received vaccines as needed and requested to re-vaccinate.

“Children age 5 years old can still follow the National Children Immunization Month, while under 5 years old will be re-vaccinate in accordance to vaccine guidance if proven had received fake vaccine,” he said.
Director of Medicine Distribution Monitoring of Food and Drugs Agency, Arustiono, said that his office was still investigating fake vaccines distribution in nine provinces. There were 39 samples of vaccines took from 37 health facilities in Pekanbaru, Palembang, Bandar Lampung, Serang, Jakarta, Bandung, Surabaya, Pangkal Pinang and Batam.
“From 39 samples, there were only four samples categorized as fake vaccines containing sodium chloride or salt,” said Arustiono. “In addition, there are other vaccines containing antigen or body immune’s stimulation.”

Ministry of Health had published names of hospitals receiving fake vaccines at a meeting with Commission IX overseeing health in DPR, Jakarta, on Thursday (14/7).
The hospitals are RS Dr Sander Batuna (North Cikarang, Bekasi), RS Bhakti Husada (North Cikarang, Bekasi), RS Sentra Medika (Cikarang, Bekasi), RSIA Puspa Husada (South Tambun, Bekasi), RS Karya Medika (West Cikarang, Bekasi), RS Kartika Husada (Jatiasih, Bekasi), RSIA Sayang Bunda (Pondok Ungu Permai, Bekasi), RSU Multazam Medika (South Tambun, Bekasi), RS Pertama Bekasi, RSIA Gizar (South Cikarang, Bekasi), RS St Elizabeth (Bojong Rawalumbu, Bekasi), RS Hosana Medica Lippo Cikarang, RS Hosana Medica Bekasi, RS Harapan Bunda (Ciracas, Jakarta Timur).
